A coffee cup and Ten Quiet Minutes

A coffee cup and Ten Quiet Minutes

There’s something lovely about that first cup of coffee before the day gets busy, especially when you take it outside.
The air is still cool, so you wrap both hands around your cup. A little steam rises past your face. That first sip feels warmer, deeper somehow.
You find somewhere to sit for a while. Your front step, a garden chair, maybe a bench along a familiar trail, your thermos beside you.
As the sun comes up, the light slowly reaches the treetops. Then it finds you, your little spot. You close your eyes for a moment and just feel the warmth on your face.
Maybe a bird is singing nearby, full of something important to say. Leaves shift overhead. A neighbour passes with a dog, gives a quiet wave.
You take another sip.
Soon the day will ask things of you. Emails, errands, a list somewhere waiting. But right now, your coffee is still warm, and you have a few minutes.
Leave your phone in your pocket, watch the light change, listen to whatever’s happening around you. There’s no need to make anything of it.
At Canadian Threads, it’s often those small outdoor moments that inspire us most. Familiar places, fresh air, and just a little time to enjoy them.
Tomorrow morning, pour yourself a cup and step outside. You might find that ten quiet minutes becomes the part of the day you look forward to.
